GCSE ICT (OCR/lEVEL 2)
Course Overview:
Students will complete four units of work over two years of study. In Year 10 students undertake the two controlled assement projects that test their ability to produce IT solution using a range of software applications in a variety of contexts. In Year 11, students will study towards the completon of the two formally examined theoretical units looking at how ICT affcets our society and lives. It shoud be noted that under new regulatory changes, studnst will not have nay opportunity to "resit" any unit.
Grading: A - E
Units undertaken in Year 10:
· Practical Application of ICT— (30%)*
· Creative Use of ICT— 30%)*
Units undertaken in Year 11
· ICT in Today's World—Exam (20%)
· ICT in Context—Exam (20%)
*A unit where practical tasks are completed in exam conditions within a classroom. These units are formally known as a Controlled Assessments.
